The vascular and cellular response of living tissues to local injury characterized by redness, heat, pain, and swelling is called inflammation.
Different authors have different definitions, some called inflammation burning on fire while others say it is a local response of tissue against any irritant or injury.
Classification of Inflammation:

- On basis of aetiological agent e.g., viral ,bacterial, allergic, fungal or parasitic
